Best tuna sub I've had in 30 years. Hands down! I asked for one for Mother's Day lunch! I didn't make any modifications. Just ordered "tuna sub" on Uber eats.

This place is awesome! I got the 4Js special and it was delicious! Don't let the appearance or location fool you. This is a diamond in a dumpster. You get an awesome freshly sliced sandwich with really nice soft chewy bread that's the size of a sleeping bag. Huge, delicious, and at a great price. Friendly staff too.

Great people, even better food! Came here around lunch time to grab some subs while vacationing at Bradley beach. It may not look like much on the outside but oh my goodness you do not want to miss this place if you're visiting the Bradley Beach area. From the moment you walk in to the first bite of your food, Four J's impresses. It's an authentic Italian deli. Felt like I was back home in Bergen county - the look, smells, and even the owner himself had me in deja vu, this place is the real deal. Be ready to eat! Big portions at great prices, so prepare yourself if you get a whole! Neither my wife or I could finish our food in one sitting. We are currently enjoying the second halves of our subs for dinner! The bread is fresh, meats are delicious, and all the toppings are fresh too. I mentioned in the beginning of the review "great people", I meant it. Joe, the owner, is awesome!! Extremely personable and interested in hearing from his customers. Locals know and love him and his family for the amazing food they brought to this area decades ago. If people have been doing something for 50+ years you know they are doing it right. If you're in the area and wondering where to eat, please give this place a try. You will not be disappointed and might even become a regular yourself. I will be back!

Do not let the looks fool you, this place makes a PHENOMENAL SUB! My cheesesteak was packed with flavor & freshness. The store owner was super welcoming & we chatted while I devoured my sandwich. A must visit when in town.

He makes one of the best submarine sandwiches I've ever tasted, and the price is so reasonable. Even the pizza is quite good! Highly recommended.

Excellent Old School Sub Shop To Hit before the Beach. Joey Runs the Joint and he will take good care of you. Just place your order, and wait patiently for a taste of Nostalgia! The Place has over 60 Hot and Cold Subs to choose from. When we went we ordered the Gutbuster with Turkey, Roast Beef, Pastrami etc HOT Dressed with Lettuce Tomato The Works. It was amazing and could have fed all three of us. Good Food, Good Prices, and a cold old-school neighborhood feel.

I have to disagree that this is a takeout place only. Four J's is an authentic Jersey shore establishment, and the food is off the charts, assumingly, delicious. Joey is an obviously hard-working guy committed to his food and it shows. We had the breakfast sandwich (fried egg, freshly sliced ham and cheese on a roll) and the breakfast platter (eggs, bacon, home fries) and it was great. We sat at the counter and were entertained by the locals and by the gracious service. Joey is a gentleman with no frills... it's a plain place, not fancy, but look beyond the lack of yuppie bullshit and you've got yourself a delicious taste of Italian authenticity. We returned at lunch time for a sample of his version of a Jersey sub to compare with others we found in the area (Vintage Subs, Irv's and his). His was our hands-down favorite. The only thing I would add, which is my personal preference, is some more oil and vinegar. Other than that, freshly sliced meats and provolone and bread that can stand up to the necessary moisture such a sandwich needs (i.e., drench that sucker in oil and vinegar). While waiting, I peeked over the glass meat case to see his workspace, and Joey obviously works his you-know-what off, as I saw flour and a rolling pin near his freshly made, thin-crusted cheese pizzas (something else we need to try of his). Run, don't walk. You won't be disappointed. Don't be a puss and just do takeout -- sit at the counter and enjoy a little local banter. He's a sweetheart and takes good care of you.

Ordered subs at this place twice now on our way to the beach in Asbury Park. Great place to stop and buy a large sandwich inexpensively to enjoy on the beach. The owner of the place is really nice too. We called right after we got off the Parkway and it was ready waiting for us.

This place is a sleeper. I have driven by this place so many times without given it a thought. About a year ago I stopped in and got a #6, the super sub. This place is the best food value in Monmouth County. Don't let the neighborhood sway you. The bread is fresh and the cold cuts are delish. This place is the place to get your sandwiches. The best in the area.
